Egads! What does it all mean?

The idea here is an echo of the "Slow Food Movement." (I like slow music, but I've nicknamed the husband "Ballad Boy" due to his high interest-- and by comparison, my much lower interest-- in slow songs.)

I have been a collector of vinyl since '01, and I'm an enthusiast for the experience of listening to music. The horrible sound quality of streaming music on the internet, as well as the poor sound quality of MP3's, in comparison to vinyl (or even a CD!) is detrimental to the experience of music as a physical and tactile art. Yes, there's science behind this argument, but you can do your own home experiments rather than have me explain it to you. Please use good speakers when you do. :)

There's more to The Slow Music Movement than sound quality though.

Humans are meant to interact with things in a physical manner. In a time of screens (like this one), the physical experience of holding a book in your hands, or sliding a record out of its sleeve and placing it on the turn table are extremely satisfying. When it comes to accessing things, this is an age of immediate gratification, and there's a deliciousness in having to seek out records, an enormous satisfaction in finally finding the record you've been longing to listen to. This is what The Slow Music Movement is about.
